.International students can work for up to 20 hours per week in New Zealand during study time and they can work full time in New Zealand during the holidays.

Documents required for New Zealand student visa application:

1. A letter of admission from a New Zealand Govt approved institution such as The University of Auckland, Auckland University of Technology or a New Zealand Govt owned polytechnic Unitec Institute of Technology, Otago Polytechnic, Wintec or any approved Private education provider such Auckland Institute of studies.
2. Passport copy for the identification of the student.
3. Bank statement of parents, grand parents of the student or the student himself to show three months old funds to cover the tuition fee of at least one year as per the admission letter and living expenses of NZ$ 20,000 for a duration of 1 year and a plan for further duration if applicable. A student can avail the education loan from govt approved banks in his country and submit the same to cover the financial requirements.
4. Complete Family details including Name, DOB, relation, occupation and contact details.
5. Income tax documents of parents and grandparents of the student.
6. A Police clearance certificate from the concerned authorities.
7. A Medical certificate or Chest X-ray from NZ govt approved medical practitioner in your country.
8.  Clearly scanned Copies of all academic documents such as marksheets and degree certificate etc.
9. Clearly scanned copies of all work experience documents such as appointment letters, relieving letters, pay slips, bank statement and income tax returns if applicable.
10. Financial Undertaking Form INZ 1014 filled and signed by all sponsors.
11. Acceptable passport size photograph in JPEG Format.
12. IELTS or PTE Score of not more than 2 years old.
    13. Details of previous immigration history.
    14. A well written statement of purpose.
    15. A detailed cover letter.
    16. Visa Application fee.

Although, there is an approximate waiting time schedule for all visas applications, however the processing time and decision on any visa application also depends on various factors such as the documents provided, country of the student and number of visa applications received by Immigration New Zealand.
